The Seattle Seahawks had a strong showing in their first season under new head coach Mike Macdonald in 2024, as they went 10-7 and finished in second place in the NFC West behind the Los Angeles Rams.
Despite the success, Seattle has made massive changes this offseason, including swapping out their offensive coordinator, trading away starting quarterback Geno Smith and top wide receiver DK Metcalf and cutting three-time All-Pro wideout Tyler Lockett.
After taking Miami's Elijah Arroyo in the second round (No. 50) of the 2025 NFL draft, the Seahawks may be willing to part with veteran tight end Noah Fant before the season starts. Interestingly, Pro Football Focus' Mason Cameron recently suggested that the Jacksonville Jaguars should try and trade for Fant in the coming months.
Fant, 27, played collegiately at Iowa from 2016-18, earning All-Big Ten honors twice during his time with the Hawkeyes.
The Denver Broncos selected Fant in the first round (No. 20 overall) of the 2019 NFL draft and gave him a starting role as a rookie. In three years with the Broncos, he appeared in 47 games and caught 170 passes for 1,905 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Denver sent Fant to the Seahawks as part of the Russell Wilson trade in 2022, and since then, he's played in 48 games and caught 130 passes for 1,400 yards and five scores. PFF gave Fant a 66.0 overall grade for his performance in 2024, ranking him 22nd out of 37 qualified tight ends. He also earned a 70.2 receiving grade, good for 21st.

The Jaguars have overhauled their tight end room this offseason, moving on from Evan Engram, Luke Farrell and Josiah Deguara while signing Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt.
If the 2025 NFL season started today, Long and Mundt would likely be behind 2023 second-round pick Brenton Strange on the depth chart. If they were to add Fant to the mix, he'd take over as the starter, giving Trevor Lawrence another athletic weapon to target and fetching a draft pick or another young player for the Seahawks in return.
