The NFL’s regular-season schedule is out and the predictions are already trickling in.
With all of the information now at their fingertips, experts can now start weighing in on the enigma that is the 2025 Jacksonville Jaguars.
It’s a new era in Duval County, with the Jags breaking in a first-year head coach, general manager, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator (among others). The new regime has shed big-name (and high-priced) veterans like Evan Engram, Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis this offseason, clearing the way for the young talent on its roster to step into premier roles.

Can Trevor Lawrence stay healthy and bounce back under offensive guru Liam Coen? Will No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter be a difference-maker on both sides of the ball? Can a defense that was brutal against the pass last season improve under the direction of Anthony Campanile?
We won’t start getting answers to these questions until September, which makes Jacksonville one of the NFL’s mystery teams entering 2025. With that in mind, here’s what the experts are saying following schedule release day:

Jacksonville Jaguars 2025 win-loss predictions
Chavkin: “The Jaguars' future should be bright under a new head coach and general manager, but 2025 is more about setting a foundation than competing for a championship. Jacksonville expects to be better than last season — especially on offense, where they should be much more explosive — but that might not be enough to return to the playoffs.”
Brinkerhoff: “With the sixth-easiest schedule in 2025, per Sharp Football Analysis, can the Jaguars take advantage of a weak AFC South and get back to the playoffs? Let's pump the brakes a little on that. Jacksonville can easily be a sneaky playoff contender in 2025, but (coach Liam Coen) might have some growing pains in the big chair. He's bounced back-and-forth between college and the pros over the last few seasons. He notably comes from the Sean McVay coaching tree and did a remarkable job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. However, Coen opted to build a staff that doesn't come with a lot of experience … A lot has to go right for a postseason appearance in Jacksonville. They appear to be on the right track and will win some more games thanks to an improved, healthy roster. The playoffs will have to wait for another year though.”
Moton: The Jacksonville Jaguars will be the NFL's biggest surprise team in 2025. … If Trevor Lawrence stays healthy, he's primed for a bounce-back year. Coen can work wonders with Lawrence upright in the pocket, throwing downfield to Brian Thomas Jr. and 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. … First-time play-caller Anthony Campanile must figure out how to patch up the defense, though. Jacksonville gave up the most yards through the air and ranked 25th against the run in 2024.”
- Ben Arthur, FOX Sports: 6-11
Arthur: “Of the eight teams the Jags face that finished above .500 last season, they’ll get five of them at home (Texans, Chiefs, Chargers, Rams, Seahawks), which is great news. But even with talented young players like Brian Thomas Jr. and two-way rookie Travis Hunter, and a healthy Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville still appears to lack the personnel needed to push for a playoff spot in 2025. The pass defense, in particular, is filled with question marks. The Jaguars should be better than they were last season, when they finished 4-13, but not by a wide margin.”
Verderame: “The Jaguars are resetting their franchise with James Gladstone as general manager and Liam Coen as the head coach. Jacksonville has the benefit of a third-place schedule, and also a home slate, including winnable games against the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers and Jets. If the Jaguars can’t, the road schedule could make things very challenging.”
