Jade Cargill to be confronted by ex-WWE champion on SmackDown after shocking twist? Potential explored

Jade Cargill cut a brief but dominant promo last week on WWE SmackDown, which was her first appearance since dethroning Tiffany Stratton to win the Women's Championship. The Storm put the entire division on notice, and also had a brief confrontation with B-Fab and Michin backstage.

Tonight, the new Women's Champion is set to face B-Fab in a singles match. However, she could be confronted by a former champion after the bout.

Last week, Giulia shockingly lost her Women's United States Championship to Chelsea Green in under 90 seconds. Before she won the title from Zelina Vega, The Beautiful Madness claimed that the Women's US Title would only be a stepping stone for her to get to the top of the division.

After shockingly dropping the title, she could challenge Jade Cargill this week for the biggest title in the women's division on the blue brand. Her character is in need of proper direction, and a world title feud could be the best way to reset things.

Giulia and Kiana James had a brief backstage segment with Cargill a while ago, in which The Storm denied James' offer to join her. Now, they could begin a feud with the former NXT Women's Champion challenging Cargill for her title. However, this angle is mere speculation and it remains to be seen how the two superstars are booked.

Hall of Famer explains why Jade Cargill winning the Women's Championship wasn't a good idea

In a recent episode of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, AAA Hall of Famer Konnan explained why WWE putting the Women's Championship on Jade Cargill wasn't a good decision. The Storm took advantage of Tiffany Stratton's knee injury to win the title in dominant fashion at Saturday Night's Main Event on November 1. However, Konnan claimed that Cargill wasn't ready to win the title:

"She looks like a star but she's not championship material yet. She needs to be able to lead people...It's like when Liv Morgan first got the championship, I was burying them, 'She's too green, why did they give it to her, she's not ready,' then the second time they gave it to her, she was ready. She can lead people in a match, she cuts good promos...You don't just give it to somebody because they're over."

It remains to be seen how the former AEW star's title reign plays out in the coming months.
