Jarren Duran and Rafael Devers were teammates with the Boston Red Sox through June 15, but that will no longer be the case moving forward. The Red Sox traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants for a package that included a number of young pitchers.

News of that trade broke just as Jarren Duran and the rest of the team was boarding the plane for a road trip. Rob Bradford works for WEII, and he was able to ask Duran for his thoughts about the trade, and how it all went down. Duran said:

"I don't have Twitter so I just kinda saw him get off the plane and just kinda felt like no way. But like I said, it's Rafael Devers, like I was just shocked to see him leave the plane, but I napped most of the plane so I didn't really have time to think about it."

Bradford asked Duran about the loss of Devers, and what it means for the Boston Red Sox moving forward. It was clear in Duran's reponse that he believes in his teammates, and was largely unaffected by the move:

"I mean I trust everybody we have now and we can't let one little thing deter what we've got going so far. I mean, yeah, he is a great player, but at the end of the day, it's just one guy so we got 25 other that were pulling on the same line to win those series. So we gotta think about it like that as a team."

Jarren Duran encourages booing from Yankees fans during rivalry series

The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees have an intense rivalry, and it's a series that Jarren Duran always looks forward to. Duran spoke about that rivalry series in a video posted by MLB, and he hopes that he is one day good enough to get booed by fans of the Yankees.

“Absolutely. I mean, you’ve got every fan in Yankee Stadium booing you — that’s what you live for, that moment,” Duran said. “When people boo Bregman because he’s so good, I’m like, ‘I want to get there.’ I want people to boo me because I’m good and I cause damage against their team. They always boo Rafi, and I’m like, ‘It’s because Rafi’s good — that’s why they boo him.’”

Now that Rafael Devers has been traded to the San Francisco Giants, he will no longer be a threat to the New York Yankees. Jarren Duran will now be taking on a bigger role in Boston, and those boos could be coming.
