The Washington Commanders can't catch a break.
Injuries have defined much of their season, and the latest news on Jayden Daniels isn't any better.
Daniels has already been ruled out for Monday Night Football in Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Considering the report has come on Wednesday, it doesn't seem like he's in great shape to heal up quickly.
In Week 7, Daniels sustained a low-grade hamstring strain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport went on to report that this injury is "not long-term at all."
The Commanders will have to start Marcus Mariota on Monday night against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. It'll be the third start of the season for Mariota, who is 1-0 with a road win in his career against the Chiefs.
Daniels previously missed two starts with a left knee injury. This hamstring strain is on his right leg.
"Commanders don't want to risk it," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler added on X.

The Commanders currently sit at 3-4, already two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. There isn't a ton more margin for error for Washington, and missing Daniels against high-powered opposition is far from ideal.
Washington will be right back in action six days after playing the Chiefs when they take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
The Commanders' bye isn't until Week 12, so they'll have to figure out the best time to reincorporate Daniels in the meantime.
For now, it's just not an ideal situation at all.
