Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has admitted that it has been a tricky start to the season. He wants the new signings to be given time to adapt and believes that they will be fine once they are on the same page.

Speaking to the media after scoring in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa, Salah said he was sure this season would be tough for Liverpool. He claims that the new signings are good players, but just need some time to get adjusted to the tactics, and said (via LiverpoolECHO):

“No, but I know football. I have played football for many years. I said at the beginning it is a very tricky season for us, we have a few new players, very good signings, but they need time to adapt to the team and we lost a few good players as well. We just need time to adapt and know each other’s games and we will be fine.”

Talking about the win, Salah added that it was important to build on the win. He has shifted focus to the upcoming matches against Real Madrid and Manchester City and said:

“It was very important, we have had a few losses in the Premier League and the Champions League, but I am glad we started coming back now and it is a good result before some very important games against Madrid and City. It was a very important win for us today.”

Salah's goal against Aston Villa saw him hit the 250 mark for the Anfield side. He was proud of achieving the feat and said:

“It is a great feeling to score goals and win trophies for such a big club. It is something I don’t take for granted, I am so proud. So happy about it.”

The Reds have moved to third in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

Arne Slot on Liverpool's win over Aston Villa

Liverpool manager Arne Slot was delighted with the win over Aston Villa and admitted that they had luck on their side. He was happy to be on the positive end of the result and said (via club website):

"Happy with the result, with the performance and what I saw today, not only from the players but also the support we got from the fans, was what we needed today. Maybe we were a bit more on the lucky side than we've been in the last few weeks, where in my opinion we were also unlucky."

Liverpool host Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League during the week, before traveling to face Manchester City in the Premier League next weekend.
