Isaiah George getting plenty of Islanders validation ahead of critical roster push: ‘He’s ready’

If Isaiah George needed validation, a reminder that, yes, he still exists in the Islanders’ plans after a rocky two-year stretch, Mathieu Darche and Peter DeBoer just provided plenty.

Following the NHL draft, Darche said he wanted George to earn a roster spot in training camp.

Then, after the opening day of free agency, the general manager doubled down.

DeBoer echoed a similar sentiment one day later, too.
