Is Victor Wembanyama playing tonight? Latest updates on Spurs star's injury status vs. Thunder

2 hours ago 1

The Spurs have an important Western Conference matchup against the Thunder on Tuesday.

Unfortunately for San Antonio, it might have to take on Oklahoma City without one of its best players.

Star center Victor Wembanyama is nursing an injury diagnosed as a right knee contusion. He last played on Friday, so he has had three days of rest, as he didn't play in the second game of San Antonio's back-to-back on Saturday.

Will Wembanyama be able to play through his injury and suit up against Oklahoma City on Tuesday? Here's the latest on his status.

Is Victor Wembanyama playing tonight?

Wembanyama is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game. He was downgraded to doubtful on Monday, so unless he feels really good during morning workouts or pre-game warmups, it sounds like he will miss another game.

It will be hard for the Spurs to make up the production that comes with Wembanyama. He leads San Antonio in minutes (31.5), points (22.7), rebounds (10.5) and blocks (3.7) per game. The center dropped 50 points in a game against the Wizards last week

If Wemby doesn't play, Zach Collins, Sandro Mamukelashvili and Charles Bassey will fill in. Collins stepped up against Dallas on Saturday, finishing with 20 points, six rebounds and three blocks in 26 minutes.

The Thunder will be without their starting center against the Spurs, as Chet Holmgren is currently sidelined with a hip fracture.

This section will be updated.
