A large portion of the Super Bowl viewers are present mainly for the halftime show. With the College Football Playoff championship scheduled for Monday, Jan. 19, fans are wondering whether it will feature a halftime show as impressive as the NFL's.

In last year's National Championship, Travis Scott performed his song "4x4." This year, to uphold the longstanding college football tradition, the 2026 halftime show will feature marching bands from Indiana and Miami.

Yes, however, it will be different from last season's. The marching bands for Ohio State and Notre Dame were supposed to be the focal point of the halftime show, until ESPN agreed to have Travis Scott debut a new song of his.

This year, the CFP is taking an approach that celebrates the pageantry of college football. The spotlight will fully be on the artists from their respective universities.

The National Anthem will be sung by Jamal Roberts, a breakout soul artist. Those who watch American Idol may recognize Roberts, as he was the winner of American Idol Season 23.
