Tyson (50-6) is a former undisputed heavyweight champion and a Hall of Famer. He last fought professionally in 2005 but competed in an exhibition fight in 2020. A health scare prevented the fight against Paul from happening this summer, but "Iron" Mike is ready to prove he still has something left in the tank.
Paul (10-1) has primarily faced MMA fighters. After losing against Tommy Fury, Paul beat boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland. Looking to grab more attention, Paul challenged Tyson, looking to beat the legend in one of the biggest events in combat sports history.
There have been several detractors who believe Tyson should not be competing. However, Paul vs. Tyson will still go ahead as planned. A fight that can bring in a record-breaking viewing audience, Paul believes he will end Tyson's return to the ring early.
"If you love the sport of boxing and you did have the opportunity to fight a legend, it is an honor to step into there with one of the three biggest legends in the history sport," Paul said via WBJF. "I think I TKO or KO him in round four or five."
The Netflix broadcast team will be led by Kate Scott, who will host the event. Two-time world champion boxer Andre Ward and Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. will also provide their analysis throughout the event. Mauro Ranallo will handle the blow-by-blow commentary.
Amir Tyson, one of Iron Mike's five kids, will also join the commentary team to watch his father fight.
Ariel Helwani, Sean Wheelock, Sibley Scoles and many others will also see screen time during the event.
