We’re getting closer and closer to the highly anticipated premiere of The Bachelorette Season 22 starring Taylor Frankie Paul of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. For Bachelor Nation fans who are wondering why this season marks the first time in the franchise where the female lead did not previously appear on The Bachelor, here’s a bit of a primer for you:
In 2022, Paul announced her separation from her baby daddy and now ex-husband, Tate Paul, on TikTok Live, which gained virality for exposing the now infamous MomTok sex scandal that involved “soft-swinging” between Mormon couples. Once SLOMW debuted on Hulu and became an overnight sensation, fans began saying that Paul would make a great Bachelorette. In a 2025 Variety interview, Paul addressed the fan cast, saying, “If I could do a crossover, and do both [SLOMW and The Bachelorette] absolutely, yeah. The Bachelorette I think would be a fun one.” Now, it’s actually coming to fruition with Season 22 (never say fan casts don’t have sway)!
The Bachelorette: Before the First Rose premiered last night on ABC, following the live telecast of The Oscars. The special preview featured Paul and 18 former Bachelorettes who looked back on their journeys from their seasons and offered advice to the newest leading lady of the franchise. For those who didn’t know to expect it, Before the First Rose easily could have caught fans off guard and been confused for the premiere of the first episode of Season 22.
So when will the first episode of The Bachelorette Season 22 actually premiere? How many episodes will there be? Who is in the cast? And where can we watch? All answers below.
