Celebrities like Ben Stiller, Timothée Chalamet and Anne Hathaway have been seen at New York Knicks playoff games throughout the team's recent run. But on Saturday, arguably the most famous celebrity couple out there was in the building Knicks-Cavaliers Game 3: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

Kelce and Swift settled in courtside as the Cavaliers attempted to pick up their first win of the conference finals.

Here's a look at Swift and Kelce's attendance at Rocket Arena in Cleveland and what to know about the couple's ties to the matchup.

Is Taylor Swift a Knicks or Cavs fan?

Swift has been known to have some affinity for the Knicks, previously saying in 2014 that she liked the team because she enjoyed Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife, Alexis, per Sports Illustrated.

Swift has also taken photographs in Knicks jerseys with players and been seen courtside at Madison Square Garden previously, though she has never made it blatantly clear that the Knicks are her go-to NBA team.

However, Swift's relationship with Kelce will certainly complicate any affection she has for New York's squad. The Chiefs tight end is a known Cleveland sports fan and could be seen cheering for his home team on Saturday.

Why was Taylor Swift at the Knicks-Cavs Game?

Swift's fiancee, Kelce, has well-known Cleveland roots — the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was born in Westlake, Ohio and attended Cleveland Heights High School.

Kelce has been open about his Cleveland sports fandom before, writing in a 2024 tweet that he has been a Guardians and Cavaliers fan "my entire life."

On Saturday, Kelce presumably wanted to take in his favorite NBA team's first home Eastern Conference Finals matchup since 2018 — and although Swift doesn't have any known ties to the Cavaliers, she accompanied the Chiefs star courtside.

The appearance at the NBA game also came just one day after the couple was seen dining at New York restaurant on Friday — according to TMZ, the two dined at Sartiano, an Italian restaurant in the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood.

Taylor Swift sports allegiance

Most obviously, Swift has made a clear allegiance to the Chiefs in the NFL thanks to her relationship with Kelce over the last few years. Otherwise, things get a bit murkier, as she has pandered toward some home crowds at concerts on top of her hometown connections.

However, Swift is often connected to Philadelphia teams as well — she is from the suburbs of the city, mentioning the Eagles in past lyrics and wearing the team's gear on multiple occasions.

On top of her mentions of enjoying the Knicks, Kelce's Cleveland sports fandom has added another wrinkle into the ongoing debates over which sports teams Swift aligns with the most.
