The Warriors are hanging by a thread in their second-round matchup against the Timberwolves, and their backs will officially be against the wall with a chance to be eliminated with a Game 5 loss on Thursday.
The Warriors have been missing a key piece of their team virtually this entire series, as point guard Stephen Curry has been out of action due to a hamstring strain. Curry suffered the injury early in Game 1 of the series, which fittingly, was the lone game that Golden State has won so far in the series.

Curry has had to sit on the bench and watch as his team has lost three straight games and is now facing elimination. Here are the latest updates on whether the Golden State point guard will be able to suit up for Game 5 in Minnesota.

Is Stephen Curry playing tonight vs. Timberwolves?
Curry has been ruled out for Game 5, per the NBA's official injury report.
He was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain on Tuesday, May 6. When the injury happened, the point guard pulled up on defense and looked like he felt something in his leg. He tried to play through it, even coming down with a rebound and taking a shot on the ensuing offensive possession. Curry then motioned to the bench for a substitution and checked himself out of the game.
We don't know exactly how much longer the point guard will be out. This is the first muscle strain of his career, so it's unclear how long it will take him to recover, especially with how temperamental hamstring strains can be.
ESPN's Shams Charania gave an update, saying that he thinks the earliest that Curry would be back would be Game 6. Unfortunately for Golden State, it needs a Game 5 win to even have a chance of making it to Game 6 and a Curry return.
— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) May 9, 2025"Steph Curry has really been limited to just doing treatment, and he's gonna be reevaluated on Wednesday," Charnia tweeted. "My understanding is that he could be back for Game 6 at the earliest."
