"Saturday Night Live" sparked backlash with its last episode, but the media storm may blow over by the time the show returns to the screen. On October 10, comedian Shane Gillis took to the stage as the host for the day and did what he does best — say something controversial. Gillis accidentally dropped an f-bomb during one of the sketches.

Additionally, Gillis said during his opening monologue, "Women just dress like wh***s now," in reference to current gym shorts culture, igniting outrage from fans and even fellow comedian Dan Levy. Fans called out NBC and "SNL" producers for platforming the comedian, especially since Gillis was previously fired from "SNL" for offensive comments. NBC and "SNL" haven't responded to the backlash, but perhaps they can win the audience over with their next host.

Is there a new episode of SNL tonight?

On October 31, Halloween night, "Saturday Night Live" is due to return with a new episode. That means two weeks without "Saturday Night Live." It's bad timing for the controversial episode to come out just before a break, but maybe the time away will make people forget the drama.

When the show does return for another fall episode, Inde Navarette will host "SNL." This is Navarette's first time hosting the show after the 2026 hit summer movie "Obsession" rocketed the actor to fame. Navarette, who previously starred in "Superman and Lois," has received multiple major opportunities since "Obsession," such as a role in the MCU's next "X-Men" film.

Navarette will be joined by Gracie Abrams, a rising pop star who has performed on "Saturday Night Live" before. Abrams released her third album, "Daughter From Hell," earlier this year.

What time does SNL start?

When "Saturday Night Live" returns, the show will start at exactly 11:30 p.m. ET. That's 10:30 p.m. CT or 8:30 p.m. PT.

Where can I watch SNL?

You can watch live episodes of "SNL" on the NBC broadcast or streamed live on Peacock. But if you miss an episode, the full episode can be watched on Peacock's streaming platform after it is uploaded on Sunday. Clips of the sketches, monologue, and musical performances are also uploaded to YouTube.
