Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers have been compared since their college days, and they have continued to be pitted against each other in the WNBA. Both play the same position, but have different styles.

Many consider Clark to be a more aggressive scorer and Bueckers the better all-round player. Sideline reporter Tiffany Bias Patmon suggested the same during Friday's game between the Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings.

"You can tell they are two different styles of players," Patmon said. "Paige is getting people involved, Caitlin’s more looking for her shot."

Patmon's comments were made while a graphic showed Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers' stats this season. Clark is averaging 8.4 assists, while Bueckers is at 5.5.

Clark also had better playmaking numbers than Bueckers in college. The former Iowa star averaged 8.2 apg in college, while her UConn counterpart averaged 4.6. Clark never averaged under 7.0 apg, while Bueckers never surpassed 6.0.

Patmon's remark infuriated a section of the Fever fanbase.

"This commentary is so distasteful," one fan wrote. "Is she blind? How can any fool say that based on the stats there?

I’ll never understand this lol Caitlin broke the LEAGUE record for most assists her rookie year and they still refuse to say she’s an amazing playmaker.

What are they gonna say next she doesnt have clutch 3s too 😂😂

I thought I was smoking when I heard that ....

Paige averages more FG attempts per game.

Clark averages the most assists by any guard ever.

What are these dumb narratives they are saying?

Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers laud each other in heartfelt pre-game segment

The Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings matchup will only get more meaningful from here on as two of women's basketball's modern-day superstars, Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, grow in their careers. The matchup has had everyone excited ever since the Wings won the lottery.

Despite Clark's absence, the broadcasters for the Fever-Wings game on Friday, Ion, dropped a pre-game segment where Clark and Bueckers discussed their rivalry in separate interviews. Clark called Bueckers an efficient three-level scorer.

"She's just so efficient. ... She can shoot it, she can score in the midrange, she can get to the basket, she's a three-level scorer," Clark said of Bueckers. "I think that's what makes her so tough is that there's so many different things that she can do."

Meanwhile, Bueckers praised Clark's game-reading abilities, saying:

"She can just pick the game apart, in any which ways she decides. ... She just reads the game extremely well at all levels."

While their fans engage in heated debates on who is better, Clark and Bueckers have maintained tremendous respect for each other.
