Is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander married? Meet Thunder star's wife Hailey Summers and son Ares

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been making his presence known in the NBA.

The 26-year-old Oklahoma City Thunder guard - also known as SGA - frequently makes headlines on the court. However, the NBA star tends to keep things pretty low-key in his personal life. 

While he doesn't post a ton about her on social media, Shai has been in a long-standing relationship with his wife, Hailey Summers, for many years.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander met Hailey Summers in High School

Shai met his now wife, Hailey, in 2017 before becoming an NBA star.

The couple, who both hail from Canada, were both high school athletes. 

After six years of dating, Shai proposed to his high school sweetheart in June 2023. 

They were married on February 14, 2024. The NBA star announced the nuptials in a low-key Instagram announcement, writing, "Just married. Shai and Hailey. February 24, 2024." 

Hailey Summers played college soccer 

Like Shai, his wife Hailey is a great athlete. She played NCAA soccer at the University of Albany from 2017 to 2021 and served as the team's captain for at least two of the years. 

As a defender, Summers made dozens of successful appearances. During her time on the team, she helped the Lady Great Danes secure their third America East Championship in four years in 2018. 

In 2021, Summers left a heartfelt post about her soccer years on Instagram, writing, "5 years later.. thank you soccer for everything but most importantly thank you for bringing me the best of friends I could ask for ❤️ #2 out."

The couple welcomed their son Ares in 2024

The couple currently has only one child, a son, Ares, who came into the world shortly after they wed.

Shai is a proud father, frequently sharing pics of his one-year-old son, who was born on April 25, 2024, on social media.

 On February 17, the NBA star shared a sweet photo holding baby Ares, with the caption, "i'm all about my bread & butters." 

In the photo, he was the toddler in his arms, while little Ares held onto his dad's jacket with his tiny hand.

Shai shared another sweet snap of Ares, lying bundled up in a stroller, in the same post.
