Paul Skenes might just be cursed.
It's well documented how tough it has been for Skenes to get a win during the regular season for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The dominant right-hander leads the National League with a 2.01 ERA. But in 20 starts, he has just four wins (and eight losses).
That shouldn't be possible. But either the Pirates haven't scored enough runs, or their bullpen hasn't held on.
Skenes must've felt right at home at the All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Atlanta.
He started the game, threw a scoreless top of the first, and then watched the NL offense put up two runs in the bottom of the first.
Wow, already more run support than usual.

Then, the National League ballooned its lead to 6-0. As the game's starter, Skenes was in line to be the winning pitcher of record.
But then the AL marched all the way back and tied the game 6-6 in the bottom of the ninth on a Steven Kwan infield single.
So much for that win.
The National League did end up winning when Kyle Schwarber dominated the Home Run Derby tiebreaker in place of extra innings.
But the winning pitcher of record? Of course it wasn't Skenes.
