The suspense is building for the Detroit Tigers.
Fans want to know whether Kevin McGonigle is on the Opening Day roster. The shortstop phenom remained in big league camp for all of Spring Training, so it has reached decision time for the Tigers.
McGonigle is regarded by many as the No. 2 prospect in all of baseball behind just Pirates shortstop Konnor Griffin. He's the kind of guy who can change a franchise's fortune once he arrives.
Considering that the Tigers are already good, it's an even more consequential decision. Can McGonigle put Detroit over the top this season?
Well, that's what everyone is waiting to find out.

Is Kevin McGonigle on the Opening Day roster?
As of Monday morning, it has yet to be determined.
McGonigle seems to have a good chance, but at least publicly, the Tigers haven't made his status known yet.
For whatever it's worth, the impressive Fangraphs Roster Resource page put together a projected lineup for the Tigers, and they've got McGonigle in it.
Not just in it, either -- leading off.
If McGonigle doesn't make the team, it'll likely be either Zach McKinstry or Javier Baez at shortstop. McGonigle likely wouldn't spend long in Triple-A Toledo before joining the Tigers.
Stay tuned for this, because no matter what the Tigers decide to do, it's big news.
