Is Joel Embiid playing tonight in Game 7 vs. Celtics? Game status for 76ers star

After two straight victories over the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers now sit just one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference semifinals for the first time in three years.

They'll look to close out the series against the Celtics in Game 7 on Saturday night.

Joel Embiid expected to play in Game 7 vs. Celtics

Fortunately for the Sixers, star center Joel Embiid is expected to be available for the contest. Embiid is listed as "probable" on the official injury report, indicating that he'll be good to go barring any late setbacks.

It will be the fourth consecutive game played by Embiid after he missed the first three games of the series due to appendectomy recovery.

Embiid's return has completely shifted the series in Philadelphia's favor, as the Celtics don't have anyone who can match up with him in a one-on-one setting. If he can lead the Sixers to a comeback victory over their biggest rival it would be quite the story.

The big man will likely be extra motivated heading out onto the floor for Game 7, as he made it clear that he's sick of losing to the Celtics in the playoffs.

"I've been playing these guys for so long," Embiid said of the Celtics. "I'm tired of losing to them. So we have a chance to accomplish something special.

"They're a great team. When you look at everything you have, that's a super team, so we just got to go with the mindset we've had for the last two games."

Game 7 between the Sixers and Celtics will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET from TD Garden in Boston.
