The Washington Commanders lost veteran running back Austin Ekeler to a season-ending injury in Week 2, which led many to believe the path was now clear for running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt to have a monster workload.
Ekeler suffered a torn Achilles, ending his second season in Washington early. Ekeler and Croskey-Merritt split work over the first two weeks, and now Chris Rodriguez is expected to take the snaps vacated by Ekeler's absence.
However, early on in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders, Rodriguez got the start and has been receiving the early touches.

Is Jacory Croskey-Merritt playing today?
Yes, Croskey-Merritt is active and healthy, he just hasn't seen the field yet.
This has been a trend over the Commanders' first two games. Croskey-Merritt has gotten his first snaps on the team's third offensive drive in each game.
It looks like that trend will continue in Week 3, although hopefully we see the rookie on the second drive.
