Is Jack Hughes dating Tate McRae? Explaining relationship rumors between USA hockey hero and Canadian music star

After scoring the golden goal to lift U.S. men's hockey to Olympic gold in Milan Cortina -- and losing a couple of teeth in the process -- Jack Hughes is a household name.

By night, the Devils standout is one of the NHL's most enchanting forwards, a dizzying mix of speed, precision and flair. The former No. 1 pick has showed out for club and country thus far in his glittering career. And at just 24 years old, there seems to be plenty more on-ice accolades on the horizon for Orlando native.

Hughes seems to be enjoying life off the ice, as well. His family name carries weight across NHL circles for obvious reasons -- his brothers are also NHL stars. And his romantic life has proven especially noteworthy, particularly among casual viewers of the sport.

With that, here's what we know -- and don't know -- about Hughes and his rumored girlfriend, Tate McRae.

Who is Jack Hughes' girlfriend?

Hughes has been linked with Canadian pop star Tate McRae in recent months. The two were seen chumming it up around New York City in November, sparking rumors that they were an item.

Neither Hughes nor McRae has spoken on the rumors since they first emerged. However, McRae has been in attendance for a few of Hughes' games, seemingly lending credence to the belief that they could be dating.

Is Jack Hughes dating Tate McRae?

It's unclear is Hughes is dating anyone, let alone McRae. He has yet to comment on the McRae rumors, although his elder brother, Quinn Hughes, did like an Instagram post that suggested Jack and McRae could be a thing.
