Is Curtis Samuel playing today? Latest injury update on Bills WR for divisional round

1 hour ago 2

The Buffalo Bills could be getting a much-needed reinforcement at wide receiver for the divisional round game against the Denver Broncos on Saturday.

The Bills have been hit hard by injuries at wide receiver of late. Joshua Palmer is out for the season with an ankle injury, and both Tyrell Shavers and Gabe Davis suffered torn ACLs in the wild-card victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But the Bills got some hope this week that Curtis Samuel could play against Denver after he was designated to return from injured reserve early in the week.

Samuel went on to tally three full practices before drawing the questionable tag going into the weekend.

Here's what we know about his status for Saturday.

Is Curtis Samuel playing today?

Yes, Samuel is expected to play against the Broncos, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The final step to clearing the way for Samuel to play was activating him off injured reserve, which the Bills did Friday.

While Samuel's tenure in Buffalo has been marred by injury and ineffectiveness, his presence for this game is huge for the injury-riddled and shaky Bills wide receivers room that has seen a lot of disappointment this season.

Lest we forget, Samuel has come up big in the playoffs for the Bills before after he reeled in three catches for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos in the wild-card game in 2024, and he tallied a score in the AFC title game.

Perhaps Samuel can find some of that magic on Saturday to help the Bills pull off a crucial playoff win over the Broncos once again.
