The USC Trojans got a huge pickup in the offseason when Chad Baker-Mazara transferred from Auburn to Southern California.
He's gotten off to a solid start, too, putting up 19.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
Baker-Mazara is now involved in an odd rumor, though, that's gaining traction even though it isn't true.

Is Chad Baker-Mazara suspended?
No, USC star Chad Baker-Mazara is not suspended.
The rumor started because of this post from a parody account:
BREAKING: USC star Chad Baker-Mazara has been suspended indefinitely following a physical altercation with head coach Eric Musselman. Earlier today, Baker-Mazara stormed into Musselman’s office demanding more NIL guarantees and subsequently “lunged” at him when asked to leave.

If you're allowing for the theater of it all, it's pretty entertaining. The NIL era could certainly create some conflicts.
But in the bigger picture, it's bizarre that fake accounts like this have sprung up to spread alternative realities.
Baker-Mazara hasn't done anything wrong, and his name is pushed down like this. The post had been seen more than 500,000 times about two hours after it was posted.
It's not particularly fair to the athlete.
