Caitlin Clark is one of the faces of women's basketball.
But this time of year, she's nowhere to be seen as the popular Unrivaled 3-on-3 league goes through its season.
Clark, the Indiana Fever star in the WNBA who was a collegiate legend at Iowa, isn't playing in Unrivaled. Most of the WNBA's top players are, but Clark sits this one out, at least this winter.
Is Caitlin Clark still playing basketball?
Yes, Caitlin Clark is still playing basketball, just not in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league.
When the new WNBA season arrives, Clark will still be a member of the Indiana Fever. It'll be her third season in the WNBA after being the No. 1 overall pick out of the University of Iowa.
Why isn't Caitlin Clark playing in Unrivaled?
The short answer here is injuries.
Clark struggled with health issues throughout her second season in the WNBA.
That included a nagging groin injury that never really went away, and so Clark wasn't taking any chances with her health for the offseason league.
Obviously, she'd be a lot of fun to watch in a wide open, 3-on-3 setting, but if it's going to happen for Clark and Unrivaled, it'll have to be down the road.
For now, she's hoping to be healthy for the WNBA season and for Team USA's action in the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup. Those are her priorities.
