The No. 7 Texas Longhorns are playing Week 3 at home against UTEP on Saturday. While Texas is a huge 40.5-point favorite, speculation has emerged surrounding the health of Longhorns starting quarterback Arch Manning.
Manning has started for Texas all season, but videos circulating online show him grimacing while throwing passes, most recently in last week’s 38-7 win over San Jose State.
The speculation intensified after head coach Steve Sarkisian made an unusual remark when asked about Manning’s health during media availability this week.
Here’s the latest on Manning’s condition, Sarkisian’s comments, and related developments.

Steve Sarkisian comments on Arch Manning
The situation took a weird turn, thanks to Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian responding to a question about Manning's health this week. Inexplicably, Sarkisian tried to deflect with some…toilet humor. compared Manning's faces
"He doesn’t have any (injuries)," Sarkisian said. " I don't know. I've never filmed any of you guys when you're using the bathroom, so I don't know what kind of faces you're making when you are doing that."

No, Manning is Texas' starter this season. Last year, he was the Longhorns' No. 2 quarterback behind Quinn Ewers, although he did start in a couple games while Ewers was injured.
One thing's for sure—cameras will likely be keeping a close eye on Manning's facial expressions on Saturday when he throws.
Texas kicks off against UTEP at 4:15 p.m. ET, and it'll air on SEC Network.
