Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have bought a palatial new $27.4M mansion in Montecito, Calif. — but they aren’t permanently moving back to the US.
The purchase comes just over a year since the former talk show host, 68, and the “Arrested Development” alum, 53, relocated to the UK.
A source close to the couple tells Page Six that the move is only temporary.
“They haven’t grown tired of the UK,” our source explains. “They wanted to spend the winter in Montecito.
“They love the Cotswolds and look forward to returning very soon.”
The couple’s new digs, which were previously owned by producer Brian Grazer are sprawled across three manicured acres and includes a pickleball court.
The pair moved to England following President Trump’s win and also to fulfill de Rossi’s “dream” of living in the English countryside.
They bought a 43-acre property, dubbed Kitesbridge Farm, but only lived there for a month before moving into their newer and much larger home with more acreage for de Rossi’s horses.
In July, the couple listed their farm estate for $30 million — $10 million above the purchase price — after extensive renovations.
“When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres said in a statement provided to the Wall Street Journal.

“We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”
The “Finding Nemo” star has long been an avid house flipper, having bought at least 34 homes in California since the mid-2000s.
The couple, who married in 2008, have a vast real estate portfolio, although they sold their two-bedroom, two-bathroom Montecito, Calif., beach bungalow for $5.2 million in March 2025.
