A 23-year-old woman believed to be an innocent bystander was shot in the leg in front of a building in a buzzy Queens neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon — as a suspect remains on the lam.

Police responded to a 911 call about a woman who was shot in front of a building on Wyckoff Avenue and Stephen Street in Ridgewood just before 3:00 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Upon arriving on the scene, cops discovered the young woman who was conscious and alert with a gunshot wound to her left leg, police said.

EMS responded and took the woman to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, authorities added.

Cops could not immediately confirm if the woman was the intended target of the gunfire or whether multiple suspects were involved.

However, police sources told ABC7 that the victim was an innocent bystander and that a dark sedan with four men inside pulled up and began shooting.

“I just heard, like, six or seven shots go off at the same time insane,” a witness told the outlet. “And, I heard screaming, like, throughout the whole complex.”

There are no arrests in the shooting as of Tuesday evening and the investigation remains ongoing, according to cops.
