Micah Parsons has had enough with the Dallas Cowboys, as the superstar edge rusher announced on social media that he has requested a trade due to contract negotiations not going well with the franchise.
Parsons is one of the best players in football, and it will cost a fortune to acquire him. Though Dallas has no intentions of trading the All-Pro defender, they could be forced to at some point, and an infamous Las Vegas Raiders trade made in 2018 could be the return the Cowboys could get for Parsons.
Back in 2018, the Raiders traded superstar edge rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears for two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick. Chicago also received a second-round pick and a seventh-round pick along with Mack.
ESPN's Adam Schefter believes the Raiders' return for Mack could be what it will take to trade for Parsons.
"A potential trade comp for Micah Parsons: When 27-year-old Khalil Mack was traded from Oakland to Chicago, the Bears gave up two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick for Mack, a second-round pick, and a conditional fifth-round pick," Schefter wrote on X.
"Now the 26-year-old Parsons — who is one of only two players in NFL history to register a dozen-plus sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons, along with Reggie White — has now requested a trade."
Mack was traded in the middle of his prime, and at the time, the move was viewed as one of the most shocking trades in NFL history. The same would go for Parsons if he's moved, as the Penn State product is now entering his prime and is already one of the most prolific pass rushers in the sport.
Since entering the league in 2021, Parsons has tallied four double-digit sack seasons and has earned four Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro nods. It will take a historic package for Dallas to trade him, likely as much or maybe even more than what Las Vegas, Oakland at the time, got for Mack.
