On Thursday, July 17, Indiana Fever legend Tamika Catchings, considered one of the greatest players in WNBA history, along with current Fever star and two-time WNBA champion Sydney Colson, partnered with 2K Foundations — the philanthropic arm of 2K — and the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) to unveil a refurbished basketball court at Riverside Park in Indianapolis, the host city for this year’s WNBA All-Star Weekend.
The indoor court holds a special meaning for Catchings, as it is where she hosted her very first basketball camp. Riverside Park also played a pivotal role in inspiring the creation of Catching's Catch the Stars Foundation, which has served Indianapolis youth for over 20 years through programs focused on fitness, literacy, and character development. The Basketball Hall of Famer and WNBA champion returned to help revitalize the space for future generations of players.
Additionally, the court features an official WNBA 3-point line, part of the league’s nationwide 'Line ’Em Up' campaign to bring regulation 3-point lines to community courts across the country. To celebrate the unveiling of the court, Tamika Catchings, Sydney Colson, as well as Ronnie Singh, AKA ”Ronnie 2K”, 2K’s Head of Lifestyle & Content Marketing, were in attendance.

“Opening the new 2K Foundations court during WNBA All-Star in Indianapolis felt like a full-circle moment,” said Catchings.“Riverside Park holds a truly special place in my heart because it’s where I held my very first basketball camp and inspired the creation of my Catch The Stars Foundation. Creating a space where kids can come together, enjoy this amazing game, and build community is why this project means so much to me. This transformation was possible thanks to the support of 2K Foundations and everyone involved.”
“It means so much to be part of this with Tamika and to see a court like this come to life in Indy,” added Colson. “No matter what city I’m in, I always want to help kids feel supported, find joy in the game, and know they belong. “Being able to give back to Indianapolis, a city with a deep connection and love of basketball and means so much to Tamika (Catchings), is what 2K Foundations is all about,” said Singh.
The newly refurbished court includes an official WNBA 3-point line, part of the league’s nationwide 'Line ’Em Up' campaign to bring its regulation 3-point lines to community courts across the country. Award-winning multidisciplinary Indianapolis artist Shaunt’e Lewis created the mural artwork at the court -- a collaboration that beautifully aligned with the mission to inspire and give the community a vibrant space to connect, refocus, and look forward with purpose.
