The Indiana Fever defeated the Dallas Wings 88-78 on Friday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 23 points on 9-for-19 shooting, including 3-for-8 from 3-point range. Aari McDonald finished with 15 points and six assists on 4-for-10 shooting (4-for-6 on 3-pointers).

Aliyah Boston added 12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals on 5-for-11 shooting, while Natasha Howard had 11 points, 16 rebounds and five assists on 4-for-9 shooting.

Paige Bueckers led Dallas with 22 points, four rebounds and four assists on 7-for-14 shooting. No other Wings player scored in double figures. Myisha Hines-Allen and Aziaha James scored nine points apiece off the bench, while Arike Ogunbowale added eight points.

The Fever are now on a season-high four-game winning streak. Indiana is No. 6 in the WNBA with a 16-12 record. Meanwhile, Dallas (8-21) lost a second straight game. The Wings are 11th, and are now seven games behind the eighth and final playoff spot.

Fever star Caitlin Clark missed the game due to a groin injury. The reigning Rookie of the Year has been sidelined for the sixth consecutive game and 15th overall this season.

The Fever won the first two meetings with the Wings: a 94-86 victory on June 27 in Dallas and a 102-83 win on July 13 in Indiana. The teams' final meeting this season will be on Aug. 12 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Indiana Fever vs. Dallas Wings game summary

The game was tied at 22 at the end of the opening quarter. Kelsey Mitchell led the Indiana Fever with seven points, while Natasha Howard added six points and seven rebounds. Paige Bueckers and Myisha Hines-Allen scored five points apiece for the Dallas Wings.

Indiana outscored Dallas 26-20 in the second quarter to take a 48-42 lead into the halftime break. Howard had nine points and eight rebounds on 3-for-5 shooting, while Mitchell scored nine on 4-for-8 shooting. Aliyah Boston added eight points and five rebounds on 3-for-5 shooting.

Bueckers is the lone player in double figures in the first half. The Wings rookie had 15 points and three assists on 5-for-9 shooting.

The Fever outscored the Wings by seven (22-15) in the third period. After three quarters, Indiana led 70-57. Dallas started the fourth quarter on a 7-2 run. However, Indiana maintained its lead and held on for the win.

The Wings will return to action on Tuesday against the New York Liberty. Meanwhile, the Fever will battle the Seattle Storm on Sunday.
