Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark said to be bigger draw than any non-NFL QB athlete once LeBron, Steph Curry retire

The Caitlin Clark experience is back in full effect, and if she can stay healthy, it feels like the time is right for her to capture the world's full attention. After returning from a left quad strain, Clark torched the defending champion and then-undefeated New York Liberty to the tune of 32 points, leading to a stunning 14-point victory.

The WNBA sorely needed Clark, with ratings slashed in half in her absence and buzz around the product dramatically waning. But with the 23-year-old back in the fold, the league is scorching hot again, with Clark dominating the national conversation.

It's led to one prominent FOX Sports analyst suggesting Clark is ready to reach an unprecedented level of stardom.

During a recent appearance on "The Herd," Nick Wright suggested Clark is the next face of US athletics.

"Once Steph and LeBron retire, will there be an active American athlete who's more famous than Caitlin Clark?" Wright asked. "She's more famous than every baseball player—she might already be—every hockey player, all the USMNT team, and every football player besides the few quarterbacks. I think she is a supernova of fame and talent."

I like the concept of Wright's take, but that doesn't make it accurate.

I find it challenging to believe that Clark right now is more popular than the likes of Jayson Tatum, Giannis, and Anthony Edwards. If Christian Pulisic has a few good matches during a domestic World Cup, he seems like a prime candidate to vault into household-name territory.

If Clark were a stock, I would sink all my assets into her success. She's on a limitless upward trajectory and could reach heights no one could fathom.

Maintaining realistic expectations is often essential, but Clark's cap is limitless, and she very well could carry the next generation of athletes in this country.
