This social media stunt just didn’t cut it.
Two idiotic teenagers have been arrested for riding a lawn mower through a Florida Target for a viral social media video.
Wild cellphone footage shows a teen — identified as Janek Szkaradek, 18 — wearing denim overalls and a straw hat on Saturday afternoon as he unloaded the lawn mower from a trailer for the ridiculous joyride through the store in Ocala, according to WESH.
Pal Luke Charske, 18, was also arrested after allegedly filming the stunt, which cops said caused widespread damage.
“He actually drove straight into the door first and shattered it,” said shocked shopper Vanessa Scarlett, who filmed her own footage of the hairbrained stunt.
“The last thing you expect to see inside a Target is a lawn mower coming through the door,” Scarlett, who didn’t know either of the teens, told WESH.
Damage from Saturday’s stunt was reportedly still visible on Sunday, with wooden boards covering broken glass at the entrance.
Both Szkaradek and Charkse were charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct in relation to the stunt. Charkse was charged as a principal with disorderly conduct for allegedly recording the stunt.
“These actions endangered people and caused property damage. They are crimes, not harmless videos,” a spokesperson for the Ocala Police Department said.
“Think before you record, it’s not worth an arrest and a criminal charge.”
Both teens were both released on Sunday, jail records show.
“I think they are teenagers that definitely got the consequence that a lot of people think they deserved,” said Scarlett, the witness. “But I also think to give them some grace, because they are teenage boys,” she said charitably.
