Ichiro Suzuki is a baseball legend in many ways, including how he's always open to competing, and it doesn't matter if the opponent is a girls high school team.
The Seattle Mariners and Japanese baseball icon took the field in a Japanese All-Star game where he was the starting pitcher against a Japanese high school All-Star girls team. Ichiro has many memorable moments at the iconic Tokyo Dome, so he can just add this to his list of impressive milestones.
Even now at the age of 52, Ichiro is still an incredible athlete, to the point that he can even pitch in a baseball game despite spending his baseball game as an outfielder. Therefore, every once in a while, the legend shows that he still has his baseball talent.
Here's how Ichiro shut down a high school girls team in Japan.

Ichiro took the mound in a Japanese All-Star game against a high school girls team, and he didn't let up just because of the opponent. The Hall-of-Famer produced a 127-pitch, 17-strikeout complete game shutout to secure the win over the girls team and was almost perfect with his performance.
やっぱりイチローは凄い! pic.twitter.com/XIl3TrMWxA
— あきさねゆう@サイバナ (@saneyuu) September 13, 2026Ichiro used this as an opportunity to see where his athletic abilities stand despite not playing professionally in over half-a-decade.
"I wanted to see what my current limits were, and this gave me confidence in myself," said after the game in Japanese, via MLB.com.
This is also not the first time that Ichiro used this All-Star game to dominate an amateur roster. Three years ago, the former outfielder was on the mound when he produced a 116-pitch shutout performance against a high school girls All-Star team, allowing five hits and two walks while topping out at 86 MPH.

All this just shows how competitive Ichiro truly is, as he never seems to pass up an opportunity to return the diamond. As long as he can still play, Ichiro will show the baseball world what he can do.
