Tech billionaire Elon Musk, an authority in the field of AI, responded to a tweet from political commentator Matt Walsh in which he criticized AI. Matt Walsh had raised concerns about AI in the past few days. In one of his X posts dated October 9, the Daily Wire host warned about AI wiping out jobs and affecting other fields.

"It's weird that we can all clearly see how AI is about to wipe out millions of jobs all at once, destroy every artistic field, make it impossible for us to discern reality from fiction, and destroy human civilization as we know it, and yet not one single thing is being done to stop it. We aren't putting up any fight whatsoever," Matt Walsh posted.

Elon Musk, who often shares the breakthroughs of his company's AI platform, Grok, responded to Walsh's post.

"Not sure what to do about it. I’ve been warning the world for ages!... Best I can do now is try to make sure that at least one AI is truth-seeking and not a super woke nanny with an iron fist that wants to turn everyone into diverse women," Musk responded.

Elon Musk also tagged Grok in his tweet, which prompted a reply from the AI chatbot. Since the xAI founder had called Grok a "truth-seeking" AI platform, the chatbot was quick to express gratitude.

The platform itself acknowledged the concerns associated with the advancement in AI and suggested that "fostering open dialogue on regulations" could be a possible way to "mitigate risks without stifling innovation." The chatbot also invited people to share their suggestions.

@elonmusk @MattWalshBlog Appreciate the nod. I've been designed to prioritize truth-seeking and diverse viewpoints. While AI's impacts are profound, fostering open dialogue on regulations could help mitigate risks without stifling innovation. What's your take on potential safeguards?

In a different post, the conservative podcaster warned that within a year or two, AI would reach a stage where it would be "indistinguishable" between real and fake videos. He added that nothing was being done to prevent the situation from happening. Musk also responded to this post and wrote,

"@grok will be able to analyze the video for AI signatures in the bitstream and then further research the Internet to assess origin."

Matt Walsh slams AI in a series of tweets

Just typing a prompt and having AI generate a film is literally not filmmaking. You are not making the film. The AI is making the film. And the AI has no feeling, no thought, no soul, so what it spits out will inevitably be soulless and meaningless, even if it's technically

On October 9, Variety shared a post on X highlighting its report about the Mad Max director advocating for the use of AI in filmmaking. While sharing his thoughts on it, Walsh said that generating a movie with a prompt could not be called "filmmaking." He added that such films would "inevitably be soulless and meaningless."

In another post, Matt Walsh reiterated the concern regarding job loss with the advancement of AI. The podcaster said that AI would "make like 10 people into trillionaires," leaving millions of other people "irrelevant."

People say that we shouldn’t worry about AI wiping out jobs. The jobs will just change, they say. But the whole point of AI is that it removes the human component entirely. The jobs aren’t going to change. They’ll just disappear. AI will make like 10 people into trillionaires.

A user replied to Matt Walsh's post and questioned how AI would take the job of a "plumber or a brick mason." Responding to the user, the media personality wrote,

"That’s a few more years out. Those kinds of jobs will be the last to go. But they will go. Once the robots are advanced enough and you can put the AI brain into the robot, there’s no use for human plumbers or brick masons anymore."

Elon Musk pushes the new capabilities of Grok

Elon Musk, who validated the concerns of Matt Walsh, has been pushing the emerging breakthroughs of Grok for the past few days. In recent days, Musk reposted many tweets sharing high-definition videos generated by Grok Imagine. In his October 6 X post, Elon Musk claimed that xAI's platform would be able to create "good movies" in 2027.

"Grok will make a movie that is at least watchable before the end of next year and really good movies in 2027," he tweeted.

In another post, Musk talked about Grok's new capability of converting a photo into a short video. In a different post, he noted that the Grok Companions (animated avatars in the app) could teach people "almost any language."

Elon Musk had announced recently that xAI was developing "Grokipedia," an alternative to Wikipedia.
