'I think she's warming up': Wife Takes off Suddenly and Leaves Their Cat Behind to the Allergic Husband, Their Kind Neighbor Steps in and Adopt the Sweet Feline Into Their Home

19 hours ago 1

Another day, another drama. Christmas only emphasizes that some of us indeed deserve to be on the naughty list. And this story has someone that is going on that list for sure. Abandoning a cat is bad enough, but abandoning it during Christmas season… that's madness. It's a good thing that some people still deserve to go on the good list too, and while the wife is not one of them, we think that her husband and the neighbor who rescued the abandoned cat deserve to be on it.

And what really matter at the end is not all the drama. That's the lesson that we plan on taking with us into the new year. What matters are all the cats that have been rescued and all the ones who will continue to be rescued, not all the drama behind it all. What matters is giving their rescuers the credit that they deserve all year long.

r/cats • 5 days ago Woofbarkmeoww Neighbors wife left without her kitty. I brought her to my house yesterday. I think she's warming up!

There is so much to this story. Seriously. But at the end of the day, the most important part of it is that the kitty is in good, loving hands, and that she will be safe and happy until the end of her days. Thank you for saving her from all that madness.

The first pic is from yesterday and the last two are from this morning. She's so loving and sweet! I think she's a bit annoyed with my 1 year old puppy who's never been around a cat and slightly overwhelmed with my children. I know a transition period is to be expected but she already seemed more comfortable this morning.

And yes, the pictures are really all that you need to see that she is settling in just fine in her new home. She is going to be very happy there - with her new owners, the children and the puppy. It'll be a full and happy life.

Any tips or advice on how to be my best for her? She's already getting all her mats brushed out and she seems to appreciate it ◎

Make sure there's space where she can be around you without kids or puppy while decompressing. If you're having to brush out mats, that's the best time for the decompression space - pampering and relaxation in one.

Woofbarkmeoww OP • 5d ago Ahh that's good advice. She came alive last night and was wrestling around the house. That's when everyone else was asleep lol. And this morning she seemed to be winding down

melting penguins • 5d ago Get her a cat tree, somewhere high that she can get away from the doggo and kiddos when needed. Or even if you have a spare room to let her decompress to get used to her new environment.

20 Woofbarkmeoww OP • 5d ago She split on her husband yes. In the worst way possible I'll add. Husband has a demanding government job. Wife was a stay at home student who did what she wanted while he just supported. Not sure why everyone is reading so much into that or down voting me for having sympathy for the husband. Their story is rough, the ending was sad and I'd rather just focus on this pretty kitty. I didn't give details because it's not necessary. She did her husband dirty and he deserv

Woofbarkmeoww OP • 5d ago Also, he wasn't neglecting the kitty at all. She was still sleeping in his bedroom. He's been under the impression that she's going to come back for her but she keeps flaking. Since he's allergic and trying to move on with his life...! decided to bring her in. I hope this clears things up. If not, im happy to divulge in private message. I just don't feel comfortable completely blasting them

UWT_Dawg 5d ago We did this with our last cat, Mittens. Her former owners just left her behind when they moved away, so we took her in. After that, we were best buds for 11 years until she passed earlier this year. Thank you for doing this!

Late-Champion8678 • 5d ago How? How do people just abandon their pets like this? Pets who are trusted and loved them? And then, they're just gone? I'm gonna go hug my kitties now. 1.1K 1.1K > Reply ...
