“I see weaknesses in his game” - Takeru vows to break down Denis Puric, finish Canadian inside the distance

Second-ranked ONE Championship flyweight kickboxing contender ‘Natural Born Krusher’ Takeru Segawa has done his homework on upcoming opponent, Canadian-Bosnian bruiser Denis Puric ahead of their highly anticipated showdown this weekend. The 34-year-old says he’s confident he can finish ‘The Bosnian Menace’ before the final bell rings.

Takeru and Puric are set to face off at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, and the Team Vasileus star believes he has discovered some glaring holes in Puric’s game.

Takeru told ONE Championship:

“I can’t really say too much about that without revealing our strategy. But I think he has plenty of holes. My former K-1 compatriot, Koya Urabe, has fought him before. I have watched those matches to devise my strategies.”

‘Natural Born Krusher’ added:

“I’m training expecting a full [three-round] fight, but I’ve devised a whole set of strategies for fighting him, too. I see weaknesses in his game, so I’m thinking it’d be great if I could use all three rounds to get the KO.”

Takeru says Denis Puric is "the perfect opponent" for his style

‘Natural Born Krusher’ Takeru Segawa thrives in situations where his opponent won’t hesitate to engage. And that’s exactly what he’s going to get against the aggressive Denis Puric at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri this weekend.

The 34-year-old told ONE Championship:

“I feel like [Puric] is the perfect opponent for me. Denis is really strong physically. He has great power and also strong mental toughness. Watching his fight with Rodtang, I thought he was a complete fighter.”
