A 2-time WWE Champion is ending his wrestling career once and for all. He's made the decision to retire after his career almost ended due to injury.

AJ Styles said his career almost ended, but now he's ready to retire on his own terms from WWE

AJ Styles was very touched by the introduction that John Cena wrote for him in their match. He said that he was not expecting it and even pointed out that he was just an "old beat up man", something that the interviewers objected to.

"It was pretty freaking cool man. That was an introduction that I had no idea that I was getting and he found a way to make me feel as important as he was, and I really appreciated it... When I look in the mirror, I'm this old beat up man."

Styles went on to say that he was hiding it well, but he was going out on his own terms and that he was grateful for that. He said that he was going to go out on his own feet. He said that it was not an injury that was taking him out, or someone else's decision, but his own choice.

"Well, I'm hiding it well. I'm hiding it well. I'm blessed man, there's no doubt about that. I've been hurt you know, for like two years in a row. I got hurt, broke my foot, and then I freaking had a lisfranc injury that almost ended my career. I thought it was over. But I was able to fight back and get into the ring and finish on my feet, that's important to me. I'm the one who gets to decide when I'm finished. Not an injury. Not someone else. I get to decide that."
