Arsenal fans are furious with manager Mikel Arteta for taking off Noni Madueke at half-time during the Manchester City clash in the Premier League on Sunday, September 21. They took to social media to express their anger at the Spaniard as they believed the Englishman ddi well in the first half.

Madueke had a tricky 45 minutes against Nick O'Reilly as he failed to complete a single dribble or cross in the game. The former Chelsea man had two shots in the game, getting one on target, while completing just 10 of his 16 passes in the game.

The Englishman also failed to win any of his duels in the game and lost possession 18 times in the first 45 minutes. Arteta was not impressed as they were trailing 1-0 and made the decision to bring on Bukayo Saka at the break.

Arsenal fans were not impressed with the decision and posted:

Nah I’m actually so done with him WHY ARE YOU TAKING OFF MADUEKE?????

Madueke best creative player and dragged?! Mikel?!

Arteta taking off Madueke who was one of our best players...

Doesn't make sense to take off Madueke but keep Trossard on. #ARSMCI

Madueke off?!?! Is he taking the piss?!???

Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the first half after a quick break from Manchester City. Tijjani Reijnders put him through into the Gunners' box, and the Norwegian striker made no mistake in slotting the ball past David Raya.

Arsenal manager heaped praise on Noni Madueke ahead of the Manchester City clash

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta heaped praise on Noni Madueke ahead of the Manchester City clash, saying that the former Chelsea man added talent and quality that they did not have in the squad. He added that the Englishman had a positive impact at the club and said (via club website):

"I was sure that he was a player with a talent and quality that we didn't have in the squad. A player with a level of threat and great ability that was going to make us better. The moment I picked up the phone, I spoke to him, his dad and his agent, and the three of them gave me the impression that they were really willing to come, and they saw something special here that they wanted to be part of. Then you have to come here, and slowly they start to get to know him, and he starts to get to understand the team. I think so far the impact he’s had on the team is very, very positive."

Noni Madueke is yet to score or assist for Arsenal in the Premier League. He joined them for £52 million in the summer from Chelsea.
