Hugh Jackman's Ex Deborra-Lee Files for Divorce Nearly 2 Years After Breakup
UPDATE: One month after Deborra-Lee Furness filed for divorce from Hugh Jackman, the former couple—who announced their separation in September 2023— finalized their split on June 23, as seen in documents obtained by People.

Hugh Jackman's estranged wife is starting the legal process of making him her X-man.
Deborra-Lee Furness—who split from the Wolverine star in 2023 following 27 years of marriage—has officially filed for divorce from him, according to documents obtained by E! News.
In the petition, which was filed in New York on May 23, Furness—who shares kids Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, with Jackman—stated that the terms of their divorce have already been decided.
Additionally, the Jindabyne actress' lawyer Elena Karabatos filed paperwork to request a continuation of health care coverage and secure a medical child support order, according to documents obtained by Daily Mail. Plus, the attorney filled out the New York state child support registry form, a proposed judgment of divorce and the official certificate of dissolution.
E! News reached out to reps for Jackman and Furness for comment but has not heard back.
Jackman, 56, and Furness, 69, announced their separation in September 2023 through a joint statement, explaining in a message shared to People, "Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."
The couple—who wed in 1996 after meeting on set of an Australian TV series—went on to note that family was their "highest priority" during the challenging time, explaining, "We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

More than one year later, Jackman went public with his romance with his Broadway costar Sutton Foster, who he'd been friends with for nearly a decade prior to their debut as a couple. (Foster's own marriage to ex Ted Griffin ended in October 2024.)
And while Furness hasn't publicly dated since her split from The Greatest Showman actor, she has provided insight into other ways she's turned a new page over the past two years.
"[I learned] that I'm strong and resilient," she told People May 9 at a New York screening of Force of Nature: The Dry 2. "And that I—we are all a constant evolution."
