One of AEW's top names, Darby Allin, has been missing from action for almost a month due to medical reasons. Now, a major update has emerged regarding the multi-time former champion's future.

Darby Allin has had a tumultuous few months since his return to All Elite Wrestling programming at All In: Texas. In his quest to take down Jon Moxley and The Death Riders, the death-defying star got mangled in a Lights Out Steel Cage Match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, and lost a brutal Coffin Match to The One True King due to Pac's interference. He managed to submit Mox in a harrowing "I Quit" bout at WrestleDream 2025, and later got tossed through a flaming table by "The Basta*d" at Dynamite: Blood and Guts.

After failing to beat Pac at Full Gear 2025, Darby entered the 2025 Continental Classic, but was defeated by Kevin Knight in his first Gold League match. Allin ended up in the hospital briefly following the bout, and after not being cleared to compete medically, he was pulled out of the tournament, his spot being filled by Jack Perry. Now, however, the latest report from Fightful Select has claimed that the former TNT Champion has been cleared for action, suggesting his return could be imminent.

Amidst his hiatus, Allin recently shared a clip of himself doing an ice plunge at -2 degrees somewhere in Sweden.

How was Darby Allin's replacement fared in the AEW Continental Classic?

Substituting for Darby Allin in the Gold League of this year's Continental Classic, Jack Perry began his campaign at a disadvantage with zero points, carried over from Allin's loss to Kevin Knight. He faced another setback when he lost his first block match against defending Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada, on Dynamite: Winter is Coming. However, the Jurassic Express member bounced back against Mike Bailey at Collision: Holiday Bash, and will be taking on Pac next at Dynamite on 34th Street.

Although his Continental Classic journey was unfortunately cut short, Darby could be featured in action at AEW Worlds End against Death Rider ally Gabe Kidd, as per spoilers from a soon-to-be-aired Christmas Collision taping.
