How unlikely couple Dr. Dre and ‘The Valley’ star Michelle Saniei crossed paths

The origin story behind the year’s most unlikely couple has seemingly been uncovered.

“The Valley” star Michelle Saniei met Dr. Dre through her close friend, Ashley Palmer-Gilkey, the US Sun reported after they were photographed together over the weekend.

Palmer-Gilkey is the general manager of Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records, according to her Instagram bio. Dr. Dre founded the label in 1996 after he left Death Row Records.

Her LinkedIn profile states she has worked for Aftermath Entertainment for 16 years, first as Dr. Dre’s executive assistant from 2010 to 2013 and then as GM from 2013 to now, describing her role as “support[ing] Dr. Dre’s overall vision, mission, and mandates.”

As for her relationship with Saniei, the Bravolebrity shared a birthday tribute for Palmer-Gilkey last week, calling her “my soul sister” and adding that she’s “more like family than a friend.”

Palmer-Gilkey responded in the comments, “love you 🤍 cheers to more laughs, more trips, more skinny margs, more mems 💕.”

The record exec also shared a Grammys 2026 recap slideshow featuring separate photos of her with Dr. Dre and Saniei back in February.

A source told the US Sun that the women have been friends for a long time and Saniei has been around Dr. Dre “for months.” However, it’s unclear when things turned romantic between them.

Saniei and Dr. Dre set the internet ablaze when photos of them holding hands while leaving Nobu in Los Angeles over the weekend surfaced.

The real estate agent, 37, and the hip-hop legend, 61, were photographed by paparazzi leaving the celeb hotspot together, surrounded by security as they both got in a black Mercedes SUV.

Dr. Dre was dressed comfortably for the outing, sporting a black hoodie, jeans and white sneakers.

Saniei, on the other hand, opted for a purple high-neck top, a black miniskirt and stiletto boots with a long black leather trench coat.

Dr. Dre has kept his love life private after settling his divorce with ex-wife Nicole Young in December 2021, agreeing to pay her $100 million.

The couple — who share two children — had been married for 24 years until Young filed for divorce in 2020.

Dr. Dre also has seven more kids from previous relationships, including one child who died in 2008.

Saniei’s marriage with now ex-husband Jesse Lally fizzled out in front of “The Valley” cameras.

The couple, who married in 2018 and share one child, separated in 2024 and finalized their divorce the following year.

In an interview with BravoTV.com published on April 15, mere days before she was photographed with Dr. Dre, Saniei said she was “single, single, single.”

“I am not dating anybody, but I am open to it, whenever that time comes,” she said. “I just have not met anybody special yet. Single, ready to mingle.”
