How to use winch in RV There Yet

Traveling between checkpoints in RV There Yet is no ordinary feat, as you have to navigate through the treacherous terrain and evade inevitable wildlife encounters. To make matters worse, your vehicle is prone to collision and getting stuck in a pit or mud. Thankfully, tools like winches exist to help you escape those unavoidable obstacles, which can otherwise force a game over.

It creates anchor points, allowing you to pull your vehicle toward them with a controller. This article further discusses everything there is to know to use a winch in RV There Yet.

How to operate the winch in RV There Yet

Your vehicle in RV There Yet is equipped with two winches, one at the front and the other at the rear end. You can operate both of them with a single remote controller. But first, you have to attach them to a nearby tree or rock to create an anchor point.

The winch has a retractable cable that can be extended up to a few meters. If you are stuck in a position where your vehicle won’t budge, grab one of the lines and hook it to a tree or a rock. Now, pick up the remote from the inventory and press the pull button.

Keep someone at the driver's seat to make necessary adjustments if required. Once the RV has overcome the obstacle, unhook the winch line from the anchor spot and attach it back to its base. Also attach the remote to the tool rack to avoid losing it.

You can also connect two winches at the same time to escape difficult situations. Use the remote to operate both the cables. To move forward, you need to reverse the rear lines before toggling to the front for a pull. The slightest bit of tension can destroy your vehicle so avoid it at all cost.

It is worth noting that you need winch poles to attach the cable to flat ground. You can pick them up from supply posts or checkpoints. Connect the pole first and attach the line to it, creating a reliable anchor.

Where to find the winch controller?

You can find the winch controller attached to the tool rack inside the RV. It looks like a regular remote with options to toggle between the rear and front cables. The controller is fairly compact and prone to being lost.

If you can’t find the controller in your session, do not panic. You can pick up more remotes later. We found an additional winch controller in the second checkpoint.
