How to tame Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony

Gigadesmodus is one of the new creatures in ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony, and it’s an incredible one! A flying creature, you can put a mobile command center on its back, and you can shoot while flying it. This makes it a very useful monster to tame others with, and it’s going to be one of the most desired monsters on this map, I think. However, it’s going to take some work to unlock this for your collection.

How to find a Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended

You don’t find Gigadesmodus in the wild in ARK Survival Ascended like the Veilwyn or Ossidon. You need to defeat the bosses of this new map, like the Lost King. This is essentially the final part of the storyline on the new map, so it’s no doubt going to take a while to get the items needed to unlock the fight. You’ll complete Red-Handed (Alpha, Beta, or Gamma), and need to be a minimum Survivor level, depending on the option you craft.

Alpha crafting reagents

• Alpha Ossidon Skull x5
• Neophyte Horns x5
• Prime Crimson Sigil x200

It will teleport you to an arena, where you’ll need to decrypt a lock and look for a Codex in the Lost King’s palace. It’s an incredibly challenging dungeon, and there are plenty of powerful enemies to take down. The final task here is to defeat the guardians that lead you to the Lost King and Lost Queen.

You need to defeat them, to claim the loot and then Ascend. If you’re playing with cheats/console commands, this can be made significantly easier, so if you really just want Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using those.

Of course, Ascending will hit the credits, so get through that, and re-load your game. In addition to the loot you picked up, you will now have a Gigadesmodus Egg in your inventory. From there, it’s just a matter of placing the egg on the ground and hatching it. You can also use console commands to speed the process up (HatchEgg command) to give you a baby Gigadesmodus.

ARK Survival Ascended Gigadesmodus taming guide

Since you cannot find Gigadesmodus in the wild in ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony, there’s no real taming guide here. When the egg hatches, it will be tame and loyal to you, which is really the most important thing.

It will already be set to fly, provided you have either a Gigadesmodus Saddle or Gigadesmodus Platform Saddle. These are made at your Tek Replicator, and simply defeating the boss and claiming the loot will get you the blueprint.

What’s the console command to spawn a Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony?

While you cannot find a Gigadesmodus in the wild in ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony, you can cheat one into existence with console commands! Not everyone wants to use these and that’s fine, but if you do want to, here’s the commands:

• admincheat GMSummon "BossBat_Character_BP_C" 150 (Level 150, Tamed)
• admincheat Summon BossBat_Character_BP_C (Random level, Wild)

All Gigadesmodus abilities and controls

The Gigadesmodus is a flying creature, so you can ride around on it if you have either of the saddles built and equipped. It’s LeftControl+LMB fires a blast of fire from its mouth, which is pretty awesome right out of the gate. It also has an Execute attack (C Button).

The Execute has an awkward range, but if you use it and it succeeds, you gain the Execution Success buff, which grants +25% damage. Its primary attack hits incredibly hard, so you don’t need a second. The only real drawback is that the Gigadesmodus flies incredibly slow in ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony.

This massive creature can also pick up other, smaller creatures and fly around with them. By default, Gigadesmodus has the Blood Sustenance as a passive. This gives back 15% of all damage dealt as health, and your rider gains 5%. That means both you and the monster have sustain while in battle.
