Counters

The following is the best team composition to solo defeat Dynamax Hitmonlee in Pokemon GO:

• Dynamax/Gigantamax Gengar with Shadow Claw (Level 40+) - Defender 1
• Dynamax/Gigantamax Butterfree with Bug Bite (Level 40+) - Defender 2
• Dynamax Metagross (257 ATK) with Zen Headbutt / Dynamax Latios (268 ATK) with Zen Headbutt / Dynamax Gardevoir (237 ATK) with Confusion or Charm / Dynamax Alakazam (271 ATK) with Psycho Cut / Dynamax Hatterene (237 ATK) with Psycho Cut - Dynamax Attacker

Strategy

At the outset, you must make sure that Hitmonlee uses only Fighting-type attacks for this strategy to work best. The Low Sweep, Brick Break, and Close Combat are its Fighting-type moves. Keep restarting the fight until you get a combination of these attacks. Even here, a combination of Low Sweep and Brick Break are the easiest to deal with.

Start off with Gengar to charge the Dynamax meter. Its Ghost and Poison typing means it will take triple resisted damage. This is further decreased if you can dodge the focused attacks (however, this is not a necessary condition). Butterfree, a Bug- and Flying-type, can soak up double-resisted damage if your Gengar faints.

For attacking, Dynamax Alakazam and Dynamax Latios are the best options. However, the other options mentioned above also work well enough. Hatterene and Gardevoir can double up as defenders as they both double resist Fighting-type damage as well.

Level 3 Max Attack is not a necessary condition, but will help you defeat Dynamax Hitmonlee in Pokemon GO faster. Max Mushrooms or Crowned Sword Zacian's Adventure Effect are not needed.
