We’re just about a month away from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest rodeo event in the country, which will take place at NRG Stadium, the home of the Houston Texans.
The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is scheduled for March 2–22, 2026, at NRG Park.
Last-minute opportunities to get involved with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
The 20-day event will feature daily rodeo competitions, concerts, and a carnival. Additionally, the World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest will occur just before the rodeo, from February 26–28, 2026.
The rodeo operates through volunteer committees; around 35,000 volunteers in 109 committees make the show possible each year. Most committees have been full for the past few months, with some reaching capacity shortly after last year's show. However, there are still chances to get involved in this year's event.
As of last week, only the Facility Services and Recycling committees were looking for volunteers, with fewer than 100 spots still available. All other committees are at full capacity and have waitlists for the 2026 event.
If you're seeking part-time work for the Rodeo, there are opportunities available. Abbie Goldberg, the director of operations for HLSR, announced on KHOU 11 that part-time positions will be open ahead of a job fair on February 1st from 1 to 5 p.m. at the West Club of NRG Stadium.
