How to get Greater Essence in The Forge

Collecting the best essences is crucial for pushing your weapon's damage to its limit in The Forge. The action RPG currently features seven types of essences, the rarer ones requiring you to kill high-tier enemies. The Greater Essence is one such scarce resource, which can be obtained by slaying Deathaxe Skeletons, Elite Deathaxe Skeletons, and other powerful foes in the Forgotten Kingdom cave.

To get Greater Essences, first reach Level 10 and complete the "End of the Beginning" quest. Finishing both these requirements will let you unlock and access the Forgotten Kingdom from the Portal given by the Wizard NPC.

The Ruined Cave in the Forgotten Kingdom contains many enemies that give the Greater Essences. Their names and essence drop rates are mentioned below:

• Deathaxe Skeleton - 1/8
• Elite Skeleton Rogue - 1/6
• Elite Deathaxe Skeleton - 1/6
• Slime - 1/10

Deathaxe Skeletons are in abundance in the Ashen Passage sub-location of the Ruined Cave. Meanwhile, to battle Elite Skeleton Rogues, Elite Deathaxe Skeletons, and Slimes, you'll need to enter the dangerous Volcanic Depths. The route to this sub-location is blocked by Basalt Veins, which can be broken with a pickaxe that has a Mining Power of 78 or above.

You can also find Slimes in the Goblin Cave. However, accessing this area requires the completion of the Goblin King quest, which in turn compels you to part with a lot of precious ores and Gold.
