How the Knicks will decide on their last roster spot — and why it matters more than you think

At the risk of being labeled Captain Obvious, the Knicks need a center.

They have two natural frontcourt players in their 30s — Karl-Anthony Towns, Andre Drummond — and that’s it. One injury would send the rotation into an undersized mess.

It’s why the training-camp battle between James Wiseman and Drew Eubanks has our attention. Both veteran centers will operate at the Tarrytown facility on non-guaranteed deals with a very legitimate chance of making the final roster.

With that said, the Knicks also have three guards/wings on non-guaranteed deals — Bruce Brown, Jon Konchar, Ochai Agbaji — who are deserving of final-roster consideration. Brown and Konchar, in particular, are strong candidates with established NBA résumés.
