How the Grammys Paid Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne 6 Months After His Death

Kelly Osbourne Admits She's "Not Doing So Great" at Grammys 2026

Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy will live on forever.

At the 2026 Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles Feb. 1, the Black Sabbath member was honored with a star-studded tribute, six months after his death from a heart attack at the age of 76.

During the show's "In Memoriam" segment—which also included musical nods to Roberta Flack and D'Angelo and a performance by Reba McEntirePost Malone, Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and Andrew Watt came together to perform “War Pigs” in Ozzy's honor.

Throughout his decorated career, Ozzy won five Grammys—two with Black Sabbath and three as a solo performer.

The tribute also turned into a family affair, as wife Sharon Osbourne and children Kelly Osbourne, 41, and Jack Osbourne, 40, were present for the honoring, with Sharon and Kelly appearing visibly choked up during the performance.

As Kelly shared before the ceremony, she was looking forward to watching the music industry celebrate her father.

“It means more than I can express into words,” she said during the official Grammy’s red carpet live stream. “To see his peers and this community cherish him in such a way, and in a way that he deserves. It’ll be very emotional.”

Since Ozzy’s passing, his family has shared insight into his final days, with Sharon detailing his last words to her the night before his death.

“He was up and down to the bathroom all night, and it was 4:30 a.m., and he said, ‘Wake up,’” she tearfully shared on Piers Morgan Uncensored in December. “I said, ‘I’m already bloody awake, you’ve woken me up.’”

“He said, ‘Kiss me,’” she continued. “And then he said, ‘Hug me tight.’”

The 73-year-old added that looking back on it, she wished she could have appreciated the moment more.

“If only I’d have told him I loved him more,” she said. “If only I’d have held him tighter.”

But the former reality star took comfort in knowing how much Ozzy was loved during his lifetime as she recalled his emotional reaction during his July 5 “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

“He turned around and he said to me that night, he said, ‘I had no idea that so many people liked me,’” Sharon told Pollstar in an interview published in August, but conducted shortly before Ozzy’s passing. “Ozzy’s always been in his own bubble.”

“Oh my God, the metal fans are the most loyal fans in the world!” she added. “When they’re a fan, you’ve got them for life. They don’t go anywhere.”

And Sharon—who also shares daughter Aimee Osbourne, 42, with Ozzy—was grateful her husband of 43 years got to say goodbye to his fans the way he did.

“It’s the first time anybody has said goodnight like that,” she explained, “it’s the perfect way, when you’ve had such a long career, to end it.”
