These “Tell Me Lies” cast members are dating IRL
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Tell Me Lies.
Meaghan Oppenheimer is telling truths, and you may not want to hear what she has to say.
Indeed, the Tell Me Lies showrunner revealed that the hit Hulu show would conclude with the Feb. 17 season three finale, just hours before the episode was set to release.
“After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale,” she wrote in a Feb. 16 Instagram post that featured a photo with the show’s cast, including Grace Van Patten and Jackson White. “This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it.”
“Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion,” she continued. “My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you."
But just because the beloved show came to an end, doesn’t mean that Meaghan is done telling drama-fueled narratives.
“And so, while it is bittersweet to leave something that has been such a happy experience, I am very grateful that we are able to tell a complete story with an intentional ending - a privilege very few shows get,” she added. “Thank you for loving our show. We are excited to bring you more stories in the near future.”
As for how the show—which follows Lucy (Grace) and Stephen's (Jackson) tumultuous relationship, as well as their complicated friend group—concluded? Well, there’s a lot to unpack.

After their breakup and, later, "sympathy" sex, Pippa (Sonia Mena) came out to Wrigley (Spencer House), confessing to cheating on him with a girl—though she left out that the girl was Diana (Alicia Crowder), Stephen's ex.
As for how Wrigley—who, unbeknownst to Pippa, kissed her BFF Bree (Catherine Missal) in the previous episode—responded to Pippa's confession? He gave her a hug and confirmed he's wasn't mad at her.
As for Lucy, she made a few confessions of her own during the finale, even telling Pippa that she’s the girl Evan (Branden Cook) cheated on Bree with the year prior, which Pippa did not take lightly.
Later, Lucy attempted to take Stephen down in the form of public humiliation—for about three seasons worth of payback—at a Yale luncheon.
However, things take a turn for the worse for Lucy when she learns that the tape Stephen made her film—on which she says she lied about being sexually assaulted—has been leaked. Lucy's only logical explanation is that Stephen released it in retaliation to her antics—right? Not quite, but we’ll get to that.

After Lucy gets expelled from Baird and Stephen's offer gets rescinded from Yale for sending pornographic images (a reference to the pictures Stephen emailed to Diana's dad), the timeline jumps to 2015, which is when Evan and Bree’s wedding takes place. In the time jump, it was revealed that Stephen is engaged to Lucy’s former best friend Lydia (Natalee Linez), which was short-lived after he admitted to cheating on her with Lucy the morning of the event, telling her that they were only together to make Lucy jealous. In true Stephen fashion, he mercilessly dumped her.
Stephen then confronted Bree at her own wedding over the past, before taking the mic and spilling everyone’s secrets: Lucy slept with Evan, Bree found out and published Lucy's confession video, Stephen slept with Lucy the morning of the wedding, and Bree and Wrigley have been sleeping together for months.
While Pippa and Diana—who are now in a relationship—duck out of the event, the rest of the frenemies fight it out. But in a twist no one saw coming, Lucy agreed to go home with Stephen after the function, even after responding, "But I hate you," to his request.
After the pair is seen driving off together, Stephen ditched Lucy at a truck stop—and all she could do was laugh up at the sky.
Though the Tell Me Lies era may be over, there are certainly more juicy series to come. For more 2026 TV premiere dates, read on…
