The Seattle Seahawks just drafted their quarterback of the future.
But don't worry, Jalen Milroe isn't going to knock new $100 million QB Sam Darnold out of his starting job anytime soon.
It's a perfect setup for Milroe.
He can learn from the veteran Darnold, who knows what it was like to be a highly touted draft pick.

Darnold's deal is for three years. He'll likely start for at least two before any possible changes.
In the meantime, Milroe can be a special weapon for the Seahawks.
His 4.4-second 40-yard dash speed gives him a chance to get on the field as a supplementary weapon, a bit how the Ravens used Lamar Jackson as a rookie.
Milroe is a powerful ball carrier, with legitimate RB-level rushing skills.

He'll be a quarterback long term because he also possesses a rocket of a right arm.
But in the meantime, he'll help Seattle move the ball.
Darnold can't be too upset about this. He may have to come off the field for a play every now and again.
But at the end of the day, quarterbacks want their team to score points.
Milroe will help the Seahawks score points, maybe in a very impactful way very quickly.
It's an exciting move by Seattle. The timeline of the Seahawks' next QB steps are still uncertain, but having Milroe in the building is a positive step for the organization.
